A fantastic and unusual Vintage walrus ivory bracelet from the 1950s era! This unique Alaskan Eskimo crafted piece has a simple yet beautiful design comprised of hand carved walrus ivory links, which have a elongated octagonal shape. Each panel link is strung on double elastic strands and has an alternating pattern of light and dark ivory links, creating a two-tone design. The lighter colored links feature the charming raised faces of hand-carved snow dogs, which have dotted black eyes and noses. The ivory has a smoothly polished finish and both hues have rich coloring and natural variations throughout. The flexible design allows it to slip easily on and off and accommodate large or smaller wrists. A very unique bracelet, this special piece?makes a stylish statement when worn!
Measurements:?Each carved ivory link varies slightly in size, with an average length of 5/8" and width of 1/2". When un-stretched, the inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) has a diameter of approximately?2 1/4" however,?its flexibility allows for larger or smaller wrist sizes.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage, chips, or scratches to the carved walrus ivory links, which are all intact and securely strung.
